Overview
Join us for an enriching Online Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training, designed to empower yoga teachers with the knowledge and tools to confidently guide pregnant women through their pregnancy journey. Whether you're teaching in-person or online, this training will provide you with the skills to help women alleviate discomfort, prepare for labor, and recover postpartum, all while offering the benefits of yoga for both mother and baby.
This course is Yoga Alliance certified, and upon completion, you will receive a YACPA certificate.
What You Will Learn
In this 14-session online course, you will gain a deep understanding of prenatal yoga and how to adapt your teaching to meet the needs of expectant mothers. Key topics include:
Pregnancy Week by Week:
Learn about the unique challenges and changes during each trimester of pregnancy.
Understand the physical, emotional, and psychological changes women go through, and how these affect their yoga practice.
Recognize signs of complications and know when it is important to refer your students to a healthcare provider.
Anatomy and Physiology of Pregnancy:
Explore the physiological changes during pregnancy, including changes in posture, circulation, and the musculoskeletal system.
Study common conditions such as diastasis recti, sciatica, and pelvic girdle pain, and how to adjust poses for these conditions.
Learn how hormones affect joint stability and how to offer modifications for safety.
Safe Asanas for Pregnancy:
Dive into specific asanas that are safe and effective for pregnant women at all stages.
Learn how to modify classic yoga poses to accommodate the growing belly, changes in flexibility, and physical limitations.
Discover the importance of deep breathing techniques and relaxation poses that support both mother and baby.
Explore restorative practices to promote relaxation and relieve common pregnancy discomforts such as back pain and swelling.
Labor and Birth Preparation:
Learn how to guide your students through poses and practices that can aid in the birthing process.
Understand how yoga can help improve pelvic floor strength, flexibility, and relaxation for labor.
Explore breathing techniques for pain relief and to promote calmness during labor.
Discover positions and practices that support optimal fetal positioning and ease in childbirth.
Postpartum Yoga:
Learn how to support new mothers in their recovery after childbirth, focusing on restoring strength, flexibility, and pelvic floor health.
Understand the emotional and physical challenges of the postpartum period and how yoga can help alleviate these.
Learn specific postnatal practices for gentle recovery and rebalancing, including the importance of breathwork, core rebuilding, and mindfulness.
Props and Alignment:

Guiding Online or In-person Classes:
